The Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) is adding another event to its series of activities organized as part of the preparations for COP31. The first event of the new webinar series titled “COP31 Insights” will be held online on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 2:30 PM.

Designed as an international dialogue platform, the COP31 Insights webinar series aims to share discussions on the COP31 process between Türkiye and the international climate policy community. Bringing together participants from civil society organizations, think tanks, academia, and social movements, the series aims to create a foundation for the exchange of information and experiences among different actors in the process leading up to COP31.

In the first session of the series, the structure and functioning of the COP31 presidency will be discussed. Türkiye's vision and approach regarding its COP31 presidency, the priorities that may emerge in the negotiations and the Action Agenda, international expectations for COP31, and possible agenda items will be comprehensively evaluated.

Speakers at the webinar will include Andreas Sieber (350.org, Director of Political Strategy), Bengisu Özenç (Director of the Sustainable Economy and Finance Research Association), Cosima Cassel (E3G, Climate Diplomacy and Geopolitics Program Leader), and Ümit Şahin (Istanbul Policy Center, Climate Change Program Coordinator).
